Discover the timeless craft of weaving with Eileen MacNeil. Our Weaving Class is designed for beginners. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, this six-week course will guide you through the fundamentals and beyond. Over six exciting weeks, you’ll explore the timeless craft of weaving and create beautiful projects.

What You’ll Learn:

• Setting up and using a loom
• Mastering essential weaving techniques
• exploring weave structures and interpreting the Weaver’s Draft
• Crafting unique woven pieces

Class Details:

• Dates: Six consecutive Saturdays, starting October 19th
• Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (No class on November 9th)
• Location: Scotsville School of Crafts
• Cost: $150 (plus materials fee approximately $20-$30)

No experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! Spaces are limited, and looms will be prepped for your first project.

Your Instructor: Eileen MacNeil

Eileen MacNeil has been weaving and teaching the craft for over 30 years in Cape Breton. She works from her home-based studio, The Pick and Twill Weaving Studio, in Inverness, and currently teaches at the Scotsville School of Craft.

Eileen has studied with numerous master weavers from around the world and was the first recipient of the “Award of Excellence” from the Cape Breton School of Craft and Design. Her work is showcased in local shops and markets throughout Cape Breton, reflecting her passion for exploring color and graphics.
